The wait es un trabajo discográfico que consta de una composición y 8 improvisaciones interpretadas por Manolo Rodríguez (guitarra española, síntesis digital y composición) Carlos Costa (contrabajo) y Tom Rainey (batería). La composición es una obra electroacústica escrita originariamente para guitarra española y contrabajo.
Tiene un carácter minimalista, formada por elementos melódicos y rítmicos totalmente programados en cuando a su aparición y desarrollo. A pesar de esta serialización de ciertos eventos, no se trata de una obra serialista ya que confronta esa “programación” de elementos con la búsqueda de un desarrollo muy acorde a la estética del experimentalismo americano, con una clara influencia de autores como Morton Feldman. La pieza es una recreación acerca la degradación del lenguaje, unido a una polirítmia milimétrica que confronta en todo momento dos ritmos universales, el binario y el ternario. Cabe destacar la participación de uno de los baterías mas excepcionales de la escena en la música improvisada y del jazz americano, Tom Rainey. The Wait es una composición dedicada a Miguel A. Rodríguez (padre de Manolo Rodríguez). Las improvisaciones son frutos de varias sesiones del trío. Este trabajo fue grabado en los estudios “La casa murada” en Tarragona en Enero del 2016. EL diseño del cd fue encargado a Jordi Verdés Padrón ,nominado para los premios de la música en Canarias. Grabado, mezclado y masterizado por Ángel Medina. La formación con la que se presenta este disco es "m2R electroacoustic ensemble", con la que Manolo Rodríguez trabaja durante varios años interpretando composiciones de este corte.

The wait is an album consisting of a composition and 8 improvisations performed by Manolo Rodríguez (Spanish guitar, digital synthesis and composition), Carlos Costa (double bass) and Tom Rainey (drums). The composition is an electroacoustic work originally written for Spanish guitar and double bass.
It has a minimalist character, consisting of fully programmed melodic and rhythmic elements in terms of their appearance and development. Despite this serialisation of certain events, it is not a serialist work as it confronts this "programming" of elements with the search for a development very much in keeping with the aesthetics of American experimentalism, with a clear influence of authors such as Morton Feldman. The piece is a recreation of the degradation of language, together with a millimetric polyrhythm that confronts at all times two universal rhythms, the binary and the ternary. It is worth mentioning the participation of one of the most exceptional drummers of the improvised music and American jazz scene, Tom Rainey. The Wait is a composition dedicated to Miguel A. Rodríguez (father of Manolo Rodríguez). The improvisations are the result of several sessions of the trio. This work was recorded at "La casa murada" studios in Tarragona in January 2016. The design of the CD was commissioned to Jordi Verdés Padrón, nominated for the Canary Islands music awards. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Ángel Medina. The formation with which this album is presented is "m2R electroacoustic ensemble", with which Manolo Rodríguez has been working for several years performing compositions of this kind.
